Children 13 & under - See note below
Children 13 and under: Although we encourage children of all ages to participate in our Free
Spirits Summer Track Meets, we do not recommend formal repetitive track and field  workouts for
children under 13. It is important to start with light, easy, fun practices. Progress slowly as their
conditioning improves and always keeping it fun. Most kids quit track because first the parents
and then the coaches work little kids too hard.
Most team sports such as soccer, basketball, baseball, swimming, etc., are great for general
conditioning, coordination, confidence and overall good health.  We recommend parents keep
their doctors informed as to their children's level of activity.
Do not run a child if he or she
tells you they are tired, sore or show signs of exhaustion.

Our summer meets are intended to promote  track and field, camaraderie,  and overall good
health.
